Doing some research...

I have been reading some books I ordered on Amazon about Sensory Integration Disorder the last few nights. I have come across a condition that I feel is pretty darn accurate about Josh. It is called Dyspraxia. Have any of you heard of it? Or have little ones diagnosed with it? From what I can gather it isn't a condition widely known. The more I read about it, the more I am floored that ALL of Josh's problems/symptoms are explained with Dypraxia. So I just wondered if anyone knows about it.

Yes, I've heard of dyspraxia. It's also called apraxia and there can be a lot of different types- speech-wise where if affects speech, there is also limb apraxia which affects the extremities... my daughter has shown tendencies to be apraxic. Particularly when she was learning to talk, and then when we started trying to teach her finger plays and the hand motions (sign language as well), we noticed her having difficulty...

P.S. In case you were thinking of dyspraxia/apraxia related to speech, there is an awesome website that is a great resource. It's www.apraxia-kids.org. I've also got some good books on it for parents/therapy alike. I'd be happy to pass the ISBN's along in case you wanted your own copy... :)
