Pingree???

Does/has any one sent their child to Pingree??? Jonmah was diagnosed with High functioning autism, but the dr said an autistic school would be ideal for him. I called a feew in the salt lake area and A they are either to expensive or B, they are ABA. I called and the waiting list for Pingree is any where from 6 months to a year and a half!! Is it worth it?? What if i just home schooled?? He is just approaching age 3, so he will be in preschool for 3 years. Im just looking for some thoughts and ideas on education for autistic children.

I haven't sent Mason to Pingree because he has had such great alternatives in our local area, but I am sure it is good. It seems I heard it was very expensive though. There is also Spectrum Acadamy in NSL, but I am not sure that they have a preschool. Check with your local school district and see if they offer anything through early intervention. That is how we heard about the AWESOME program that Mason went to for 2 years. Do you not like ABA therapy?

Im in Murray, not alot of options. Pingree is free for preschool, and Spectrum is to far away for just 2.5 hrs a day. No, im not a huge fan of ABA but it looks like most of these programs are followers so I'll need to adjust.

For what it is worth, Mason has had sooo much success with ABA therapy. He is just a different kid now from who he was three years ago. I feel so lucky we were able to get him services. Good luck with everything, and let us know what you decide.
