Hey everyone. I am looking to take Mason in to get a thorough vision screening done, but I don't feel like I can take him to just any optometrist. It needs to be someone patient, good with children, and able to help a child who may not respond well to the "normal" routine of an eye exam. Have you taken your kids anywhere? Who do you recommend? I am looking preferably in Weber/Davis county, but I can travel a little if necessary.

This may not help because I don't know anyone in Weber/Davis county but my son has other eye issues to deal with so we go to a pediatric doctor through Primary Children's but he's at the Riverton Hospital location. I live in Bountiful (lived in Ogden when we first started going to him) and it's definitely far but it's worth it to me because I think the doctor is so great! His name is Dr. Scott Larson. Good luck!

We see Dr. Larson too! He is an Opthomologist and bills through medical and not vision which is good for us. He's patient and he recognizes he doesn't get the whole picture in the office so he really listens to the parents as well. The only down for us is that he has a busy office and doesn't always (read rarely) run on time.

Good luck!

We have seen a doctor at Primary Children's in Salt Lake. It's been quite some time, but I want to say his name is Erikson. I was impressed at how he was able to find out what he needed given my daughter's limitations in communication. We had a good experience there. Hope that helps.
