Quick question...

I am thinking about taking Jonah to see Dr. Sara Winters. She is a "special needs" doc. in the Salt Lake area. I was wondering if anyone has ever gone to her, or heard anything. Would love to hear some feedback. I wish you all a wonderful week.

I took Mason to her. She comes to Ogden a couple days a week as part of Childern With Special Healthcare Needs. She is a developmental pediatrician, right? I have to be honest and say that I don't remember much about her. I am sure I liked her, but I don't think she told me any more than I already knew. Mason was 3.5 or so when I took him there to get his "official" autism diagnosis. He had to meet with her, a speech lady, and a child psychologist--who actually did the diagnosing. I did like her, and I would definately give her a try.

He met with the psychologist a few weeks ago. I just need to find a ped and though I love our family doc, but Ive waited long enough to start to take J to a ped. I am also looking for someone who has an X-ray machine in their office so I can avoid PCMC

We saw Dr. Winters last september. I really liked her. She was very down to earth and talked about not only Josh, but me and how I was dealing with things. She really listened to me and what I had to say about Josh and my concerns. She gave me some helpful advice and I really liked her. I can't help you with the x-ray machine part since we saw her here in Ogden as well. I do know the office was large and had a lot of other things to help with kids.... like ortho ect. You can always ask the receptionist. I would at least go and see if she is what you are looking for.

We met with Dr. Winters in October/November. One thing I particularly remember about her that kind of bugged me was that she made assumptions about my husband and I as well as Tanner in terms of what we "wanted" and all that. It was weird. But, she gave us a lot of encouragement as well as some good resources for learning about PDD-NOS (which we didn't know anything about at the time). She wasn't covered by our insurance, so I wasn't too happy to learn that AFTER we saw her.

I have never taken JT to see her but I do believe this is the same Dr. Winters his pediatrician talks so highly of. I love our ped. He is usually right about the type of doctor I like to take JT to and he has told me I would like her before.

I hope you find the right ped for you and your family. It is so important

our ped does xrays and stuff and are NOT at PCMC but are at riverton. We really like them. they specialize in preemies and special needs. Dr. Duffy and Dr. Nagle. if you want their number let me know. We have never seen dr winter either. We dont' see a developmentl ped other than what we saw at shriners.

I didn't even know there was such a thing as a special needs doc. And in the area? Wahoo! Thanks for the heads up!
