We strongly advocated for her to have an aide, which she did during her kinder year (it was a 2:1 aide). When she started first grade, the special ed teacher said they were outta money and she wasn't severe enough to have an aide. The short version of that story is that we switched schools and she has a full-time 1:1 aide. She is an anxious and easily overwhelmed kid and gets lost easily so this was the best decision we could have done for her...kshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12201064701178458053noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1817534420224769131.post-36280857069495469122009-04-19T11:45:00.000-07:002009-04-19T11:45:00.000-07:00I am very nervous about our next year too. He is 7 and up until now has been in alternative K and then a special education unit this year. But next year we will be going into the unknown and I am very nervous about it. The only thing I can say is to keep on top of things and make sure you know what is going on. Even with our son in a special education class this year, we have not had great contact with the day to day stuff and I have not been very happy. Good luck to you and your son.Melissahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17986134596025619230noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1817534420224769131.post-44711504068413104492009-04-18T09:33:00.000-07:002009-04-18T09:33:00.000-07:00I don't have any experience with that, but I'm wis...I don't have any experience with that, but I'm wishing you the best of luck anyway.
